Things I haven’t been telling you tumblr.
I didn’t want to write about this before I found out and then when I found out yesterday I was really in shock and thrilled and stunned and didn’t know how to put it into words. wow this sounds mysterious. it really isn’t though.
ok here we go! I can’t decide how far back into the story I want to go… probably not that far because it will get way more rambly if I do. ok. so February 5th I drove down with one of my friends from school to West Virginia University. We had both applied for the fall and been accepted but they have a lot of scholarships that you have to audition for so we went to the audition. you know in hopes of getting a scholarship. The audition itself was one of the most fun I’ve ever had at an audition which for me is generally not fun for various reasons the major being I’m really really hard on myself as a performer. ANYWAY the auditors were really nice and the auditions went quick my friend and i were the last two people who auditioned that day and we were back on the way home by 12:30 ish. never mind the fact we left for WVU at 4 am. we’re both crazies. On the way home he and i listened to theatre podcasts and talked. got home around 5 ish exhausted and really happy with how the audition went. Especially since I wasn’t planning on doing the scholarship audition until about a week and a half before the audition date. My acting professor Brenda who went to WVU was like NO you’re dumb you’re auditioning for that thing. and i was like well ok and rushed around to get head shots and letters of rec.
next section of the story! yesterday I get a call from WVU. I got the scholarship and its a big one. Full Tuition Waiver. WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!! someone is paying me to go study acting at their school. WHAT! So excited. oh also my friend missed his call from WVU and has been trying to get back to them but he keeps not getting anyone. But we’re pretty sure he got the scholarship too. so yeah! happy thoughts all around!
